Better Shelter is seeking a driven and detail-oriented Grants and Impact Reporting Manager to join our growing Fundraising and Partnerships Team. This role will be essential in showcasing our impact, supporting grant applications, and delivering high-quality, tailored impact reports and donor materials.
The right candidate is both analytically sharp and a compelling storyteller—capable of transforming field data into meaningful, donor-ready content that demonstrates how Better Shelter’s work creates measurable change for displaced communities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Impact Reporting
- Develop and lead Better Shelter’s impact reporting framework, including defining indicators, data collection processes, and reporting cycles.
- Work closely with program and technical teams to gather and verify quantitative and qualitative data related to shelter deployments, beneficiary reach, and outcomes.
- Create high-quality donor reports, dashboards, case studies, and presentations that clearly communicate impact to various stakeholders.
- Ensure reporting is tailored to the expectations of diverse donors including corporate partners, foundations, and individual philanthropists.
2. Grant Support & Proposal Writing
- Collaborate with Fundraising Managers and the Head of Partnerships to develop compelling grant proposals and donor applications.
- Contribute data, stories, and evidence to strengthen the narrative and credibility of funding proposals.
- Maintain a database of previous proposals, donor requirements, key impact figures, and templates for efficient and consistent proposal writing.
3. Donor Accountability & Compliance
- Coordinate with internal teams and partners to ensure timely submission of all grant reports and impact updates.
- Track grant deliverables, KPIs, and donor expectations; proactively manage deadlines and reporting schedules.
- Ensure all external reporting is aligned with Better Shelter’s tone, branding, and impact messaging.
4. Internal Collaboration & Knowledge Management
- Act as a key liaison between the Fundraising Team, Technical/Sales Support, and Communications Team to align messaging and ensure data accuracy.
- Support internal capacity building by creating guidance and templates for impact storytelling and data collection.
- Help develop an internal culture of impact awareness and evidence-based communication.
