The Opportunity
Are you a relationship-driven fundraiser with a deep understanding of the philanthropic and corporate landscape in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region? Do you have the expertise to engage corporations, corporate foundations, and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals (UHNWIs) to drive impactful partnerships?
Better Shelter is looking for a Fundraising Manager – Gulf Region (GCC) to lead our fundraising and partnership efforts in the region. The role focuses on securing funding and in-kind contributions from corporate donors, foundations, and philanthropists, ensuring that Better Shelter can continue delivering life-saving shelter solutions to displaced communities globally.
The Fundraising Manager – GCC will work closely with the Fundraising Manager and the broader Partnerships Team to develop high-value relationships and secure sustainable funding streams from the region.
We're open to both employment and consultancy arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate & Foundation Partnerships
- Identify, cultivate, and manage relationships with major donors across the GCC region;
- Develop and negotiate strategic partnerships that align with the objectives with Better Shelter’s mission; and
- Secure financial and in-kind donations, such as funding for shelter units, emergency response projects, and other initiatives.
2. Ultra High Net Worth Individual (UHNWI) Engagement
- In collaboration with the Fundraising Manager, cultivate relationships with philanthropists, family offices, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs) in the region.
- Develop tailored proposals and engagement strategies that resonate with the region’s philanthropic culture and traditions.
- Leverage networks, events, and introductions to build new relationships with influential donors.
3. Fundraising & Stewardship Strategy
- Further develop and execute a tailored fundraising strategy for the GCC region, aligning with Better Shelter’s global fundraising objectives.
- Set ambitious yet achievable revenue targets from public sources, corporates, foundations, and HNWIs.
- Ensure long-term donor retention through excellent stewardship, impact reporting, and recognition programs.
4. Networking, Events & Advocacy
- Represent Better Shelter at high-profile events, conferences, donor meetings, and humanitarian summits in the GCC region.
- Organize exclusive donor gatherings and corporate engagement events to strengthen relationships and showcase Better Shelter’s impact.
- Work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Partnerships to deepen relationships with government-linked entities and philanthropic institutions.
Who You Are (Qualifications & Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, Business, Fundraising, Marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience in fundraising, business development, or corporate partnerships in the GCC region.
- Strong network of corporate donors, corporate foundations, and philanthropists in the GCC-region.
- Deep understanding of philanthropic trends in the GCC, including Islamic Philantropic giving, and endowment-based funding.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is an asset.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the GCC region.

- Judgement – Managing complex partnership opportunities and stakeholders.
- Persuasive – Influencing corporate and philanthropic decision-makers.
